National Disability Employment Awareness Month
A US observance recognizing the contributions of workers with disabilities and the importance of inclusive employment. Many autistic adults face significant employment barriers.
History
NDEAM began in 1945 as a weeklong national observance. In 1988, Congress designated the commemoration as National Disability Employment Awareness Month. The US Department of Labor's Office of Disability Employment Policy now administers it.
